Wear a floor-length gown - the length should skim the floor.
Wear the appropriate evening shoes. These are not the shoes you wear every day or to the office. Generally these types of shoes are made of cloth (mainly satin) and are sometimes embellished with rhinestones, pearls or crystals. (And make sure they are comfortable!)
Bring a wrap or bolero jacket, as some venues can be cold.
DO NOT wear a dress or long skirt with a "mullet" hem (high-low hems).
DO NOT wear a dress with a sheer skirt with a shorter skirt underneath. Basically, no sheer if your body shows underneath.
DO NOT wear a dress with cut-outs in the bodice (showing your stomach); crop top and skirt, especially if your stomach shows.
Costume de Rigueur must be worn. Exception - Active Duty military may wear dress uniforms.
Black tails & black pants, white bow tie & white vest, & black dress shoes.
We are Saraland Mardi Gras Association, Krewe of Sparta, an all inclusive, non-discriminatory mystic society created for the sole purpose of celebrating all things Mardi Gras.
Applications for our coed membership will be considered for applicants age 21 and older. We do not discriminate based on race, religion or political affiliation.
Our 2020 parade was at noon on Saturday, February 22, 2020 on Highway 43 in Saraland and the Grand Marshall was Eli Gold - the voice of the Crimson Tide!
